我曾接受過不同的心理治療訓練,當中特別鑽研心理分析/心理動力治療及婚姻/家庭治療。當然,我會按需要而採取更廣泛的治療手法。

 

個人心理治療中,心理分析/動力取向 (psychoanalytic/ psychodynamic approach) 關乎人的整體心靈健康與人際關係,著重了解和處理表層意識、情感世界及潛意識的互動、成長經歷帶來的阻礙或困擾,及與他人關係的糾結等,目的是發現真我和整理生命,活得踏實滿足。

 

婚姻或家庭等關係治療中,系統取向 (systematic approach) 著重各成員之間的關係互動,促進良性溝通和理解,解開彼此情感的糾結,期望開展關係新一頁。

如果我在初步了解時,即使發覺未能為你提供最合適的解決方案,也會盡力為你思考和尋找其他可行的方法。

Do you need psychotherapy?

 

People usually seek counselling or psychotherapy because of distinct clinical conditions, such as anxiety or depression, or as a result of a specific life issue which is undermining the quality of life, sleep, health, work, and the ability to cope generally. 

 

By the same token, most people look for counselling or therapy due to relationship difficulties, be it with partner, children, family, work or with oneself. Besides, challenges also come from bereavement, trauma or relationship breakdown, etc.

 

Fundamentally, psychotherapy is like a journey. It is about a deep self-understanding and personal growth that can let you become a better person.


 

How does psychotherapy work?


When seeking professional help for the first time, it is often confusing as to where to start, with whom and to sort out what approach would best suit your particular difficulties. 

 

The starting point recommended is always to have a thorough clinical assessment with a highly experienced clinician, who has a knowledge of all the available forms of psychological and therapeutic intervention.

I have specialised and been practising in clinical assessment and counselling/psychotherapy since 2007. 

Thus, once assessment (in one to two sessions) has been completed, I will discuss with you a recommended approach. This may be:

  • a brief therapy of a fixed number of sessions for a distinct problem; or

  • a couple or family counselling/therapy for relationship issues in a systematic approach; or

  • a longer term individual psychotherapy for deep-seated and long standing difficulties in a psychoanalytic/ psychodynamic approach

 

If I am unable to offer help to a potential client personally, I will endeavour to assist you in finding the best possible alternative help available.
